Director Mariusz Treliński delivers the company’s first new Forza in nearly 30 years, setting the scene in a contemporary world and making extensive use of the Met’s turntable to represent the unstoppable advance of destiny that drives the opera’s chain of calamitous events. The distinguished cast also features tenor Brian Jagde as Leonora’s forbidden beloved Don Alvaro, baritone Igor Golovatenko as her vengeful brother Don Carlo, mezzo-soprano Ekaterina Semenchuk as the fortune teller Preziosilla, bass-baritone Patrick Carfizzi as Fra Melitone, and bass Soloman Howard as both Leonora’s father and Padre Guardiano. For the final three performances, soprano Elena Stikhina stars as Leonora.

Start Time: 4:00pm
End Time: 8:00pm
Where: Sheridan County Sportsmen's Association, 89 Keystone Rd, Sheridan, WY 82801, USA

Tactical/Practical Tuesdays are a friendly environment where all aspects and topics of firearms and firearm use are discussed and applied in live shooting applications. Emphasis is on developing defensive skill sets with both handguns and carbines. Tactical/Practical Tuesday may include classroom lectures, videos, specific shooting training and drills, or both. Wintertime events are usually presented in the SCSA Clubhouse and Indoor Range. The Indoor Range lends itself well to low-light and no-light firearms technique training, both handheld and weapon-mounted tactical lights. Once the weather improves the events are typically held at the SCSA Pistol Pit Complex. https://www.scsarange.org/classes-and-education

The Sheridan Fulmer Public Library will host the Gene Stewart Memorial Art Exhibit on the mezzanine from April 4 through April 30, 2024. A biography statement supplied by Gene’s family reads: “At an early age, Gene L. Stewart started to draw cowboys and horses. Her talent as an artist grew and began to include wood working, leather tooling, and decorating animal skulls. As a young adult, she painted with oils, acrylics, and pastels. Gene was always interested in western life, particularly rodeo, and her paintings began to reflect the western lifestyle. Working primarily in acrylics, her focus turned to Native Americans. Her painting, “The Milasco Six” featured six Indian Chiefs on their arrival at the Capitol of the United States. The painting hung for several years in the lobby of the WYO Theatre. After her husband died in 1978, Gene moved to Sheridan to be close to family, and became active in the artists’ community. She was a member of the “Off the Wall Gang” along with fellow artists Dean States, Ginny Bohart, Alice Fuller, Delores Barnes, Lyndal Calendar, and Mary Burgess. Travel to improve her craft became a passion, and she traveled across America, as well as internationally. Her most memorable trip was to China in 1988, with a group which included James Bama. It was made more memorable because the trip organizers, assuming Gene was male, paired her with Bama. She quickly set them straight, and she and James had a good laugh. Because of the work involved with painting in oils and acrylics, Gene put her brushes aside. In 2012, at 86, Gene took a workshop from her friend Dean, and learned to work in colored pencil, which became her favorite medium. She said, ‘I can work until I get tired and not have to clean my brushes’.”
