Dave McKee served as the Bighorn National Forest liaison to the National Park Service and American Indian representatives in completion of the nomination for the Medicine Wheel /Medicine Mountain National Historic Landmark which is a sacred landscape for American Indians. The program will cover current management and preservation of the Landmark. Dave is a member of the Wyoming Archaeological Society, president of the Fort Phil Kearny/Bozeman Trial Association, and co-chairman of the Bozeman National Historic Trail project. Dave and his wife Susan live in Sheridan, Wyoming. Donovin Sprague was born and raised on the Cheyenne River Sioux Reservation in South Dakota and is a member of the Minnicoujou Lakota. He is a university instructor, author of ten books, a historian, and currently teaches history, political science including Wyoming Tribal History, American Indian History & Culture, Tribal Law, Treaties, & Government, and Plains Indian Art, among other courses at Sheridan College. Donovin serves on the Fort Phil Kearny/Bozeman Trail Association Advisory Board and the Bozeman National Historic Trail Advisory Committee.

The 10-mile bike from Black Tooth Park to Soldier Ridge (NO DOG WITH BIKES) will start at 10 am. Shelter dogs will start at 10:15 am and the hike/run will start at 10:30 am. The hike will be Black Tooth Park to Hoot Loop, about 5 miles. Hikers and Joggers are encouraged to bring their own dogs to walk the trails with us. The Sheridan County School District #1 Recreation District Board of Directors will conduct a grand opening ceremony for its newly constructed basketball and pickleball court facility. This facility, known as Little Goose Park, is located at 27 Highway 335, approximately a quarter mile south of the Big Horn Y. The courts are comprised of one regulation-sized basketball court and two pickleball courts. The courts were designed by Engineering Associates of Sheridan and constructed by Sport Court of the Rockies of Highlands Ranch, Colorado. Members of the community are invited to attend the grand opening which will be held on Friday, August 27th at 11:00 a.m.

Any aspiring or current songwriter are invited to attend. Bring an original song or lyrics, your voice, and a stringed or keyed instrument and take part in songwriting discussions and collaboration with other artists. Subjects will include, tips and tricks, harmony, chord progressions, and lyric and melody writing. $20 donations are welcome, all ages welcome. Workshop will be followed by live performances by contributing artists. Red Butte Band, Rollin7s Band, April June and more. Saturday August 28th Singer Songwriter competition 5-8. 10 Local artists from all over Wyoming will perform original songs to a panel of judges and audience. All contestants will be selected to advanced to the Semi-finals in Tensleep.8pm the after party will start with live music and dancing in the grass. $10 general admission at the door.
