| 1 7:00pm The Two Tracks with Sarah Sample
Date: Friday, December 1, 2023Start Time: 7:00pmEnd Time: 9:00pmWhere: WYO Performing Arts and Education Center, 42 N Main St, Sheridan, WY 82801, USA
The Two Tracks are Sheridan’s own original Americana band that have toured the country and beyond, harnessing their own unique brand of joyful music that’s sure to draw you in for more. They’ve played prominent festivals such as Americanafest, Deadwood Jam, Kate Wolf Music Festival, NewWestFest, and Red Ants Pants, Julie and Dave Huebner, Taylor Phillips, and Fernando Serna, bring rich harmony vocals to wonderfully crafted lyrics that somehow find hooks in the name of a bird, or conversely, in the struggles of daily life. And all of this highlighted by Dave’s unique style of cello playing. They’ve recently released their fourth album titled “It’s a Complicated Life” borrowing the title and cover art from a painting by local artist David McDougall of Painted Skull Studio in Dayton. These new songs touch on natural experiences and personal stories, with tales from their lives and the world they inhabit. American Songwriter described their music by saying “They avoid many of the cliches and gimmicks that have grown common in the Americana world while still championing a natural, Earth-grown sound…an immeasurably rewarding experience.” And Post to Wire writes “The songs just roll along with melodies dovetailing into sublime playing, wonderful harmonies and strong songwriting. There’s a direct line from the songwriters to the listeners with just the right amount of production and texture to make them dance on the surface and slide deep into the soul.” Find out more at http://thetwotracks.com">thetwotracks.com Their dear friend, neighbor, and award-winning songwriter Sarah Sample will be joining them to open the show. Sample has released six full length albums, and played several prominent festivals over the years —from Merlefest, to Cayamo, to Folks Fest, Sisters, Telluride, and Kerrville – not to mention winning songwriting contests at most of them – and continues to put out new music; most recently, her single “In Your Arms.” Find out more at http://sarahsample.com">sarahsample.com Show Location
